GPT-Video vs StreamLadder: stream clips that fit the app screen, and split screen as a format
StreamLadder is a streamer's pipeline from VOD link to scheduled post, while GPT-Video is a clip maker that stops at the file and gives you tools to check how the clip sits on screen.
GPT-Video suits a streamer who cares how the clip looks inside TikTok, Reels and Shorts. You can test a frame against the app interface in a free checker, move captions with one sentence, and build a stacked split screen as its own format. StreamLadder costs less on the App Store, imports Twitch and Kick VODs from a link, publishes, and has a 7-day trial.
The short answer
A stream clip is judged on a phone, under TikTok's, Reels' or Shorts' own buttons and text. GPT-Video gives you two ways to deal with that. The safe zone checker draws each app's interface over a frame, so you can see what stays visible, and Editor Assistant moves the captions when they land under a button. Split screen is also a format of its own on GPT-Video, with its own tool.
StreamLadder is built for the same streamer and is ahead on the route in and the route out. It imports Twitch and Kick VODs from a link and publishes with scheduling. Its prices here come from the App Store listing, because the web price page could not be read on 2026-10-04.
Where GPT-Video is stronger
You can check the frame against the apps. The safe zone checker is one of the free browser tools on the site. You drop in a frame, it overlays the interface of the three apps, and it runs in the browser with no account. It measures a frame you already have, so it is a check and not an automatic fix. We found no equivalent on StreamLadder's public pages, so for StreamLadder this is not confirmed.
Captions move by request. When the check shows a caption under the like button, you tell Editor Assistant to lift it, and the change is applied to the clip on screen. If the result is worse, you undo it. The stream highlights page covers the rest of the path, from transcribing the VOD to a captioned 9:16 file.
Split screen has its own tool. On GPT-Video you upload your main clip, add a second video for the bottom half, and get one 9:16 composition with captions over the main clip. Credits are charged on the main clip only, and the second video is not counted. See the split screen video maker. StreamLadder's editor lists stack, side-by-side and picture-in-picture layouts and describes game-specific ones, so it can do a gameplay-and-facecam stack too. What we could not confirm is a dedicated split screen tool. We do not claim it lacks one.
Picks come with a reason. Each suggested moment comes with a note on the hook it starts from and the exact sentence that made it a candidate. StreamLadder ranks clips with a score from 0 to 100. The score gives you an order. The written reason helps you decide whether you agree with a pick.

Where StreamLadder is stronger
- Linking a VOD. Paste a Twitch or Kick link and the stream is in. We ask for a file.
- Publishing. Post and schedule from the product. We stop at the exported file.
- A free start. Basic editing is described as free and unlimited without watermarks, and new users get 7 days of everything.
- Price. The Creator tier with unlimited clip detection is $26.99 a month in-app. Starter is $14.99, but it does not include the clip finder.
- A score on every clip, and layouts made for specific games.
GPT-Video has no lasting free tier and no publishing, and it does not import from a link. What it gives a newly confirmed account is 50 credits that last up to 14 days.
What a real month costs
Take a streamer who goes live six times a month for two hours. Six times two hours gives 720 minutes of footage, and Standard quality bills one credit per minute. Starter holds only 250 credits. Adding one $25 top-up gives 750 credits for $44, and the middle plan gives 800 for $49. We price the month on the middle plan. Spread over those 720 minutes, it comes to about $0.068 each. If you take the annual deal and pay ten months for twelve, that plan costs $490 a year, or $40.83 averaged per month.
The nearest StreamLadder plan is Creator at $26.99 a month, which is $22.01 less than ours on monthly billing. Yearly, it is $269.99 in the App Store, or $22.5 a month, which is $18.33 below our yearly figure. StreamLadder prints no minute meter, so we cannot work out a price per minute for it, and its price already includes publishing, which ours does not.
So the cheaper month is StreamLadder's. What our extra money buys is the safe zone workflow, the split screen tool and written reasons. If those do not change what you post, the lower price wins.
What you give up by moving
You give up VOD links, in-product publishing, the free tier and the 7-day trial. Your clips leave as files, and you post them yourself.
You gain a way to check each frame against the apps and fix the captions in one sentence. To judge that, run one finished clip through the safe zone checker today, then open an account and confirm the email. Free access has limited places, and a place gives you 50 credits for 14 days without a card. Put about 50 minutes of one stream through it. The full plan list is on the pricing page, and the streamers page shows the whole workflow.
The verdict
Which one to pay for
Choose StreamLadder if
- You want to paste a Twitch or Kick VOD link instead of uploading a file.
- You want to publish and schedule to TikTok, Reels and Shorts from the same product.
- You want basic editing that stays free with no end date, plus a 7-day trial of everything.
- You want the lower monthly price. Creator is $26.99 a month on the App Store, with unlimited AI clip detection.
Choose GPT-Video if
- You want to see where the TikTok, Reels and Shorts buttons and text land on your frame before you export.
- You want to tell Editor Assistant to move the captions, and be able to undo it.
- Stacked split screens, with you on top and gameplay or another video below, are a regular part of your output.
- You want to read why each moment was picked, in words, instead of a score.
Prices and features on this page were read from each product's own public pages on 4 October 2026. Prices move; if something is out of date, it is a mistake and not a tactic.
Questions
Is GPT-Video a good StreamLadder alternative?
It is a good one if you cut stream recordings you can upload as files and care about how captions and the face sit under the app interface. It is a weaker one if you want to paste a VOD link, publish from the same tool or start with a free tier.
Does GPT-Video import Twitch or Kick VODs?
No. You upload the recording as a file. StreamLadder's pages describe importing Twitch and Kick VODs straight from a link, which saves a step. If you download your own broadcasts anyway, the difference is small.
Does StreamLadder have split screen?
Its editor lists stack, side-by-side and picture-in-picture layouts, so it can place two sources in one frame. We could not confirm from its public pages whether split screen is a dedicated tool. GPT-Video has a separate split screen maker with its own page.
Can GPT-Video publish my clips like StreamLadder?
No. GPT-Video ends at the exported file and never connects to a social account, on any plan. You post the file by hand or pass it to a scheduler you already use. StreamLadder has a built-in publisher with scheduling.
Where do the StreamLadder prices on this page come from?
From the official App Store listing of its app, because the web price page returned no readable text when we checked on 2026-10-04. Web prices can differ from in-app prices, so read the figures here as a guide and confirm them on its site.
