GPT-Video vs Eklipse: clips from any file with audio cleanup, or from a linked stream

Eklipse starts from a connected stream and is tuned for gameplay, while GPT-Video starts from any file you upload and can clean the audio of a clip afterward.

GPT-Video works on any video file you upload, where Eklipse starts from a connected Twitch, Kick or YouTube channel. It can also strip the vocals or the background music from a clip you already cut, which helps when a VOD has a licensed song under it. Eklipse costs $24.99 a month, schedules and publishes to TikTok and YouTube, and is tuned for gaming moments.

The short answer

Eklipse is built around a stream. It links to your Twitch, Kick or YouTube account and searches the stream for moments worth keeping. GPT-Video starts from a file, so it accepts whatever you can upload: a podcast, an interview, a talk, or a stream you recorded yourself. It also has two tools for a problem that gaming clips run into often. The vocal remover and its sibling, the background music remover, both work on a clip that is already cut.

Eklipse is ahead on gaming detection, facecam layouts and posting, and on paper it is the cheaper bill at eight hours of source a month. The sections below say where each side wins and what one month costs.

Where GPT-Video is stronger

Any file, with no channel to connect. Eklipse's public pages describe a flow that begins at a linked Twitch, Kick or YouTube account. Whether it takes an arbitrary video file is not confirmed there. GPT-Video has one way in, which is the upload. That suits an OBS recording, an episode of a show, a conference talk or a file a teammate sends you. For the stream case, see stream highlights, and for the audience, the streamers page.

Audio cleanup after the cut. A VOD is a risky source. A licensed song may be playing under the game. GPT-Video removes the music or the vocals from a clip you have already made, so you clean only the part you plan to post instead of the whole recording. Whether the result is fine to publish depends on the track and the platform, and we make no promise about rights. Eklipse's pages list captions, jumpcuts, memes and effects, and do not describe a vocal or music remover, so on that side it is not confirmed.

Speech-led picks come with a reason. GPT-Video transcribes the source and scores each moment. Each clip carries a note giving its first line and the sentence that won it the slot. The 9:16 crop is built around the speaker's face. Eklipse's detection is tuned for gaming, and its pages do not describe a written reason per clip or face-tracking reframe. When your best material is people talking, that difference matters more than a kill feed.

Edits by describing them. Tell Editor Assistant to trim the first seconds or move the captions up, and it changes the clip on screen. You can undo any change. More on vibe editing.

A stated size. A credit covers a single minute of the file you upload, in Standard quality. Quality is a dial: Draft halves the rate and Maximum multiplies it. Eklipse's pages read do not state an allowance for Premium, so there is no way to turn its price into a cost per minute.

Where Eklipse is stronger

  • Live channels. It connects to Twitch, Kick or YouTube and clips from them without an upload step.
  • Gaming focus. Detection is tuned for gameplay, with layouts that pair it with a facecam.
  • Publishing. A Content Publisher schedules posts and sends them to TikTok and YouTube. GPT-Video has nothing like it.
  • A look at the output with no upload. A signed-up account sees an AI scan of a recent stream from its linked channel before any payment.
  • Yearly price. $179.99 for a year is the lower figure next to our Starter at $190 a year.

Three things GPT-Video leaves out: publishing and scheduling, import from a link, and a public REST API. There is an MCP connector for assistants such as Claude, ChatGPT and Cursor instead.

What a real month costs

Take a streamer who goes live for two hours a week, four weeks a month. That is 8 hours, or 480 minutes of source. In Standard quality that is 480 credits on GPT-Video. That is more than Starter's 250, so this month is priced on Creator at $49 for 800 credits, which works out to $0.061 a minute. Adding a single top-up of 500 credits to Starter, for $44 in total, would also cover it. On annual billing you pay 10 months of 12, the yearly bill is $490, which is $40.83 each month.

Eklipse lists one tier. Month to month it is $24.99, which makes Creator $24.01 more. Yearly it is $179.99, so Creator is $310.01 more. On these numbers Eklipse is cheaper. Two cautions apply. Its pages do not state what Premium includes in clips or minutes, and they disagree with each other on the price, so confirm the rate at checkout, which is also what Eklipse's own blog tells you to do.

Draft changes our side of the sum. If a half-rate pass is good enough to find the moments, the same 480 minutes use 240 credits, which fit Starter at $19 a month. That is $5.99 below Eklipse month to month. Yearly, Starter is $190, or $15.83 a month, which is $10.01 above the $179.99 yearly price. Whether Draft is good enough for your footage is yours to judge.

What you give up by moving

You give up the live channel connection, gaming-tuned detection, the publisher and the preview scan. You also have to save the recording and upload it, because GPT-Video takes the file and nothing else, and you post the exported clip yourself.

You get clips from any recording, a written reason for each pick, and an audio cleanup you can run on the finished clip. To judge it, save one stream and keep a section of about 45 minutes. A new account gets free access when its email is confirmed, if places remain. The grant is 50 credits spread over up to 14 days, no card needed, so that section fits at Standard. Upload it and cut a few clips. Then run the music remover on one that has a song under it and listen. If it fits, pick a plan on the pricing page.

The verdict

Which one to pay for

Choose Eklipse if

  • You stream on Twitch, Kick or YouTube and want clips found from the channel itself, with detection tuned for gaming.
  • You want scheduling and direct publishing to TikTok and YouTube inside the same tool.
  • Gameplay beside a facecam, plus memes and effects, is the look you already use.
  • You want a first look at your clips with no upload at all. A signed-up account with no card gets an AI scan of a recent stream from the linked channel.
  • You pay yearly and want a single tier at $179.99 a year, about $14.99 a month.

Choose GPT-Video if

  • Your source is a file: a stream you recorded, a podcast, an interview or a talk, with no channel to connect.
  • A clip has a licensed song under it, and you want the music removed from the finished clip.
  • You want to read why each clip was picked, and to see the picture centered on the speaker's face.
  • You want a stated size, with one credit per source minute, so you can work out a cost per minute before you buy.

Prices and features on this page were read from each product's own public pages on 4 October 2026. Prices move; if something is out of date, it is a mistake and not a tactic.

Questions

Is GPT-Video a good Eklipse alternative?

It is a good alternative if your clips come from files you can upload and some of them need the music or the voices taken out. It is a weaker one if you want automatic clipping from a live channel and publishing in the same tool.

Can GPT-Video clip a Twitch stream or a VOD?

Yes, as a file. Save the recording and upload it, since GPT-Video does not connect to Twitch, Kick or YouTube and does not import from a link. The stream highlights page explains how that kind of source is handled.

How do I remove copyrighted music from a gameplay clip?

Cut the clip first, then run the background music remover on it. GPT-Video also has a vocal remover for the opposite job. We cannot promise the result clears any rights, so listen to it before you post. Eklipse's pages do not describe either tool.

How much does Eklipse cost next to GPT-Video?

Eklipse's help articles list Premium at $24.99 a month or $179.99 a year, but its own blog says the current rate is confirmed at checkout. GPT-Video starts at $19 a month for 250 credits, and a credit is one minute of source.

Does GPT-Video publish to TikTok or YouTube?

No. GPT-Video ends at the exported file and never connects to your social accounts, on any plan. You post the file yourself or hand it to the scheduler you already use. Eklipse has a publisher that schedules and posts to TikTok and YouTube.

Can I test GPT-Video on a stream before I pay, as Eklipse allows?

Yes, once the stream is saved as a file. Confirming the email on a new account opens free access, while places last: 50 credits for 14 days, with no card. That covers about 50 minutes of a stream at Standard quality. Eklipse instead scans a recent stream from the channel you link, before you pay.
