# Best VEED alternatives for a team

Teams pay for VEED by the user. Descript and CapCut Team also bill per person, and invideo bills per seat. GPT-Video bills per plan: $49 for Creator, with room for a small team, or $199 for Studio, with a separate space for each client. The other tools edit far more kinds of video, and most have a no-cost plan or a trial.

## The short answer

VEED is a browser editor sold per user, so a search for its alternatives usually comes from a team that has just seen the bill for more than one seat. This page orders the tools by team fit first: seats, shared workspaces and whether the price grows with each person you add. After that comes everything else the tool does. GPT-Video is ours, so it opens the list and is marked as ours.

The tools split into three groups. invideo, Pictory and Descript publish a plan that is built around several people. CapCut has a Team tier priced per user. VEED prices per user and keeps managed teams for Enterprise, and Kapwing's pages say little about seats at all. GPT-Video charges one price per plan, and Creator is described as having room for a small team. Each figure comes from the vendor's own pages as they stood on 2026-10-04, at monthly billing unless a line says yearly. Cost for one clip job is not on this page, because only some of these tools sell a clipping allowance.

## 1. GPT-Video

We make GPT-Video, so read this entry as our claim and check it against the others. It takes a long recording, picks the moments worth cutting, and shows beside each clip the opening line and the sentence that earned its score. It then follows the speaker's face when it makes the picture vertical and adds captions. After that you type what you want changed to the Editor Assistant, and every edit can be undone.

For a group, the unit is the plan. Creator, $49 a month for 800 credits, is described as having room for a small team. Studio, $199 a month for 6,000 credits, gives each client a separate space and puts your jobs at the front of the queue. On Starter, $19 buys 250 credits each month, which prices a Standard source minute at $0.076. A Draft pass is half of that, about $0.038 ($0.076 times 0.5).

Here is what we lack. No permanent no-cost plan exists. Free access covers one new account with 50 credits and a 14-day window, no card required, and it carries none of the Creator or Studio team features. The number of places is capped. You hand it a file to upload, because pasting a link does not work. We never publish or schedule posts. For developers there is REST endpoints tied to a Creator or Studio plan and the [MCP connector](/developers/mcp).

## 2. invideo

invideo suits a team that makes new video from prompts and wants seats included in the plan. Starter lists up to 5 seats, Plus up to 10 with 10 guest seats, and Max up to 20 with 20 guest seats. The editor is a multitrack timeline with multiplayer editing, and a remote MCP server lets agents in Claude or Cursor edit timelines.

The prices below were served in euros on 2026-10-04 and are per seat per month. Starter is €20 for 400 credits, with the same price on monthly and yearly billing. Plus is €60 month to month and €36 on annual billing for 2,000 credits, and Max is €150 or €75 for 5,000. Five people on Starter come to €100 a month (€20 times 5). The currency can differ by region.

The limit is the job. Credits pay for generative models and agent actions, and the pages we read cover generation and editing, with nothing that turns one long video into short clips. Credits reset each cycle with no rollover. A no-cost plan exists with a limited quota that resets weekly, and a download without the watermark requires a paid plan.

## 3. Pictory

Pictory suits marketing and training groups that build videos from scripts, articles and slides, and may want a shared workspace. The Team plan lists 3 or more users, a team workspace, 100 GB of storage and 10 brand kits. It costs $199 a month, or $119 a month billed yearly, for 1,800 video minutes a month. At $199 that is about $0.11 for each exported minute ($199 divided by 1,800).

Starter and Professional are for one user each. Starter is $29 a month, or $25 on yearly billing, for 200 video minutes, so sharing a plan means moving up to Team. Professional is $59 or $35. A 14-day trial covers every paid feature, and after it ends videos cannot be downloaded unless you subscribe. A separate API Self-Serve plan costs $79 a month on annual billing, and its MCP server needs credentials requested by email.

The limit is the unit. Minutes count the video you export, not the source you upload, and they reset on the first of each month with no rollover. Cancelling deletes your projects from the platform. Face-tracking reframe, split screen and fake text formats were not described on the pages we read.

## 4. Descript

Descript suits teams that cut video and audio by editing the transcript, and want AI voices, captions and clip creation in one place. Prices are per person. Business is $65 a month, or $50 on annual billing, with 40 media hours, 1,500 AI credits a month, 2 TB of storage and team collaboration. Three people come to $195 a month ($65 times 3), or $150 a month billed yearly ($50 times 3).

Hobbyist is $24 a month, or $16 yearly, and Creator is $35 or $24; team collaboration is listed on Business. Its no-cost plan allows 60 media minutes monthly, exported in 720p and watermarked. Every paying user can use the API, and an MCP server connects Claude, ChatGPT and Cursor.

Clipping is only one feature of a larger editor here. The clip maker page describes picking transcript sections and adding animated captions, and says nothing about automatic reframing. Two separate pools set the bill, uploaded media time and AI credits, and a month's leftovers in either do not carry over. Through the API you cannot yet pull out a finished media file, so each export is done inside the app.

## 5. CapCut

CapCut suits a team that already edits on phones, laptops and the web and wants a low flat price. The Pro subscription costs $19.99 monthly, or $179.99 for a year (about $15 a month). Team is listed as starting around $24.99 per user per month, with collaboration and a shared workspace. Four users at that starting price are $99.96 a month ($24.99 times 4). CapCut itself warns that the price you see depends on your country, device and any promotion.

Its long video to shorts tool takes one upload up to 3 hours or 10 GB, keeps the subject centered when it reframes, writes captions in 20+ languages and posts straight to TikTok and YouTube. A free tier exists, although the pages we read disagree on which tools stay free and which move to Pro.

The limit is the missing meter. The shorts tool comes with no stated allowance per minute or per clip, so we cannot work out a cost per source minute. The live pricing page returned a 404, so the figures come from CapCut's Standard versus Pro page. Split screen, fake text chat and Reddit story features were not found, and a public API was not confirmed.

## 6. VEED

VEED is why this page exists, and it fits where this page's order puts it. It suits one editor or a small group that wants a browser editor with subtitles, avatars, dubbing and a Clips tool, and does not mind paying by user. Yearly prices per user are Creator $147, Pro $265 and Studio $465. Creator is about $12.25 a month averaged. Five Creator seats come to $735 a year ($147 times 5), and five Pro seats to $1,325 ($265 times 5). We could not read the month-to-month prices.

Multiple brand kits start on Pro and custom templates on Studio. Centrally managed teams, review mode and privacy controls sit in Enterprise, which has no published price. A no-cost plan exists, exporting 720p with a watermark. For developers VEED offers SDKs for its API, plus an MCP server that generates talking-avatar video.

The limit is clip cost. Plans are sold in AI credits and "AI videos", the cost of the Clips tool was not found, and the tool needs a source longer than two minutes with spoken audio. Credits expire with the subscription period, and 4K export starts on Pro.

## 7. Kapwing

Kapwing suits teams that want clips plus a few ready-made formats in a browser editor. Beyond clipping it carries text to speech, dubbing, lip sync, split screen and a fake text message video template. Its MCP connector uses workspace credits, but we found no seat count or price per user on the pages we read, so team cost is a question to ask before buying.

The Pro plan has 1,000 credits and costs $24 monthly or $16 with annual billing, and lifts the watermark and unlocks 4K export. Above it, Business holds 4,000 credits for $64 a month, or $50 yearly. The no-cost plan holds 10 credits at 720p with a watermark. Subtitles cost one credit a minute, and the Repurpose Studio takes sources from 10 minutes up to three hours and centers the active speaker.

The limit is the credit pot. Whatever is left of the paid credits is wiped on the 1st of each month, and the cost of a Repurpose run was not found. Pro and Business have no trial, and refunds are not given once you subscribe. No scheduling is described, and no REST API is documented.

## How to choose

Start with the head count, then ask what each person does all day.

- **Choose invideo** if the team generates new video from prompts and needs seats and guest seats inside the plan.
- **Choose Pictory** if three or more people turn scripts, articles or slides into videos and share one workspace. Check that its minutes count exported video.
- **Choose Descript** if the team cuts by editing the transcript and every person needs an AI voice or captions. Plan for $65 a month per person on Business.
- **Choose CapCut** if people edit on phones and laptops, a low flat price matters, and posting to TikTok or YouTube from the app is useful.
- **Choose VEED** if you want one general browser editor, a no-cost plan to start and an API, and the yearly per-user prices fit.
- **Choose Kapwing** if split screen or fake text message videos are part of the work and you will confirm the seat terms with them first.
- **Choose GPT-Video** if the work is cutting long recordings into captioned vertical clips, you want one price per plan and not per seat, and you post the files yourself.

Here is one worked case. Five people on VEED Creator cost $735 a year. GPT-Video Creator is $490 a year when you pay 10 months of $49, which is $245 less ($735 minus $490), provided your five people fit in Creator's room for a small team. Five VEED Pro seats would cost $1,325. These buy different things, since VEED includes the whole editor and GPT-Video is built around clipping, so compare the work as well as the totals.

Send one of your own recordings through two tools and keep the one whose output you would publish. Every tool here can be tried in some form before paying, ours through 50 credits that a new account keeps for 14 days. The [price list](/pricing) has our full plans, [the VEED comparison](/alternatives/veed) goes deeper on one rival, and the [alternatives hub](/alternatives) covers the rest. ## Questions

### Which VEED alternative is cheapest for five people?

On published yearly prices, five VEED Creator seats cost $735, and one GPT-Video Creator plan, described as having room for a small team, costs $490 a year. We publish no seat count, so check that five people fit. The two also do different jobs. VEED is a general editor with avatars and subtitles, while GPT-Video is built to cut long video into clips and stops at the exported file.

### Does VEED have a no-cost plan, and do the alternatives?

VEED has one, with 720p exports and a watermark. Kapwing gives 10 credits, Descript gives 60 media minutes a month, CapCut has a free tier and invideo resets a limited quota every week. Pictory offers a 14-day trial. GPT-Video has no permanent free plan. Each new account gets 50 credits to use in 14 days, without a card, and paid plans start at $19 a month.

### Which of these tools cut a long video into clips?

VEED Clips needs a source over two minutes with speech. Kapwing Repurpose takes files from 10 minutes to 3 hours, and CapCut takes up to 3 hours or 10 GB. Descript clips from the transcript and Pictory pulls highlights. The invideo pages we read did not describe clip cutting. GPT-Video is built for exactly this job.

### Which VEED alternatives have an API?

Descript offers an API to every paying user, and Pictory sells one from $79 a month on annual billing. VEED has its own API with SDKs. Kapwing documents none, and CapCut did not confirm one. invideo offers an MCP server, and GPT-Video has an MCP connector with eight tools and an API that Creator subscribers can switch on.

### Can I publish or schedule posts from GPT-Video?

No. GPT-Video stops at the exported file on every plan and never connects to your social accounts, so you post by hand or give the file to a scheduler you already use. CapCut lists one-click posting to TikTok and YouTube, and Descript lists publishing from its homepage.
